The activation process is simple and requires very little interaction on your end. We’ll simply need ftp (or sftp) access to your current web server, or a .zip file that contains all of the files on your website. You’ll also need to make a few simple account changes with your domain registrar. If you don’t know how to do either of these things, just give us a call and one of our talented staff will guide you through the process.

When we created Common Ink, we had three main goals: It couldn’t interfere with the website’s design, it had to have advanced features to allow scalability and flexibility, and it had to be easy to use. If you’re able to use the internet, you’re able to use Common Ink. Simply log in, browse to the page that you want to edit, and then click “edit” by the text that you want to change. To add new pages, simply use the main menu to browse to the section that you want to add the page to. To change an image, simply browse to the image on your website, and click edit. To upload new images, click “image store” from the main menu, and select “upload a new image.” Upload files by clicking “file store” on the main menu, then “upload a new file.” It’s an intuitive system.

If you have experience editing websites, you’ll find that Common Ink is written for you as well. Every editable text area allows you to toggle over to the raw HTML, where you can edit to your heart’s content, with no restrictions. You can create tables, divs, embed video, add inline CSS, include Unicode characters, insert code from third-party services, and do almost anything else that you could on a straight HTML website.
