Editing your website with Common Ink is easy. If you know how to use common word processing programs such as Microsoft Word, Open Office or Google Documents, you’ll have no trouble using our online WYSIWYG (what you see is what you get) editor. After you log in to the system, you’ll see a special version of your website, with “edit” buttons next to all editable content. (Don’t worry, these buttons are only visible to you.) Just click an edit button and start editing. Hit “save” and you’ve just successfully changed your website.
Want to get fancier? You can apply text formatting such as bold, italic, underline, and strike-through. You can add a bulleted list, or a numbered list. You can include an image that you’ve uploaded to the Image Store. Link to a PDF that you’ve uploaded to the File Store. You can link to other websites, or other pages within your own site. You can apply styles from your site’s styling. You can even include Unicode and special HTML characters.
If you’re an advanced user with HTML/CSS experience, you can click the “HTML” button, which will give you direct access to the HTML for the region that you’re editing. From here, you can add inline CSS, tweak the HTML code, create div tags, tables, etc. You can even embed a video that you’ve uploaded to the file store.
